So, I want one of those "Legalize Gay" shirts from American Apparel (preferably in pink or blue) but apparently the AA I shop at doesn't have any in stock although I'm double checking tomorrow. ...Anyone want to buy me one?

Long hairstyles for African American woman 2009
Short, long, in braids, or with a weave, your hair has its own unique style, the best black hair styles are designed to take advantage of black hair’s unique characteristics. Black hair is more fragile than most, requiring tender, loving care. With less oil production, black hair also tends to become dry and easily knotted.
There are many types of braided black hair styles available. Cornrows are small, tight plaits, close to the scalp. Twists are similar: groups of hair strands are twisted into soft plaits that drape.
Hot curlers, hot combs, and color can all damage your hair and using more than one of these can make the problems exponentially worse. Since straightening your hair removes elasticity from the hair shafts, the straighter your hair is, the more fragile it will become.
Black hairstyles tips
1. Start by shampooing and conditioning your hair and then saturate it with a high quality hair setting lotion.
2. Part you hair into 1/4 to 1/2 inch sections and place end papers on the ends of your hair.
3. Roll your hair onto each straw and then secure them using hair pins.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 until you have completed your entire head.
5. Dry your hair under a hair dryer.
6. Remove the straws and separate each curl using your fingers.

The L Word
The L Word is one of my favourite shows. It's like "Sex and the City" gone lesbian. My favourite character, Shane (aka Katherine Moennig), is the player of the group. Since her character's thirteen birthday, she's slept with 900 - 1200 women. Not only does Shane have cool style, real-life Katherine Moennig does also:
African American Black Men Hairstyles
The hairstyles of black men are unique and stand apart from those who are not of African American descent. It is naturally curly and for the most part, has a soft texture. Black men's hairstyles can be worn long or short, depending on what the person wants.
For many years, black men hairstyles were relegated to an Afro. Some people called it the "natural". Some men wore them as a "big" hairstyle. Others wore them shorter. Some of the middle aged and older gentlemen would be seen with the big Afro. Some of the younger guys would rather wear the shorter one. They took pride in this hairstyle not only because it was easy to manage, but because it was originally part of their ethnic heritage.
Black men's hairstyles also consist of braids. Some men wear their hair in plaits, which are regular braids that lie down and can be connected together. Or they can choose cornrows. Cornrows form a pattern and stay connected to the hair for a few weeks. After that, it’s time to take them apart and braid them again so that they will be fresh again.

Chuck
My father went down South and picked me up some Converse, Chuck Taylor style. Next to insanely lengthy high heels, they are my favourite shoe. He got me the purple high tops and these:
Nobody puts Baby in the corner
I had just watched the film "Dirty Dancing" for the first time today. Once finished, I asked myself two questions:
1) Why don't more schools dirty dance like that?
and
2) Where can I get my own Johnny?
The main character, Baby, was so awkward at times it made me cringe. However, she loosened up and was able to dance with the ever-so handsome Johnny, as we all know to be Patrick Swayze.
I wouldn't mind dirty dancing with that...

African-American short hairstyles
While the length of African-American hairstyles ranges from short to long, there are plenty of hairstyles to choose from. For most African-American women, they prefer short hair that can be managed easily.
The good thing about having short hair is it’s easily manageable and doesn’t require a lot of care to it, like long or medium hairstyles. In addition, you can change or add to it, anytime you desire.
Although, this is the case for short African-American hair, the choice of hairstyle should match with your facial features, personality, and texture of your hair. In either case, it is still your choice as to which short hairstyle you prefer.
But, if you are not sure as to which African-American short hairstyle to go with, here’s a few suggestions you should follow. First, I would go with the short Afro. The Afro is one of the most popular hairstyles among African Americans.
A good reason to chose this hairstyle is because it requires little maintenance and you don’t need and special gels or conditioners to wash the hair.
Another African-American hairstyle is the cropped cut. The cropped hairstyle consists of short waves that is finger-combed. To give the hair extra moisture, use a solution called pomade, which will make it shine and smooth.
